About the Autism Society San Diego
We are the voice and resource for the Autism community in San Diego.
The Autism Society San Diego has been connecting people to the resources they need since 1966. As the longest-standing affiliate of the Autism Society of America, ASSD works to create a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it.
In 2025 alone, ASSD reached nearly 10,000 people through programs including:
- Camp I Can, empowering autistic children and teens through recreation and skill-building (83 participants)
- Surf Camp, connecting the autism community with the ocean and each other (110 participants)
- Family Camp, weekend retreats bringing autistic individuals and their families together (512 attendees)
- Friendsgiving Adult Camp, community and connection for autistic adults (96 attendees)
- Support Groups, 940 attendees across groups for parents, caregivers, and autistic adults
- The Autism Ask Line, support and referrals by phone and email for over 1,600 people
ASSD is built on four values: dignity, equity, inclusion, and integrity. Every program, every event, every dollar raised reflects that foundation.
